HAIL THE POET

I have known Sunkur Ji for the last 20 years and I can say
Without hesitation that he has got the pen with the style.
The way he has expressed matters and thoughts in all his books
Leaves no doubt that indeed, Bawansingh Sunkur is a writer
To reckon with.

In particular, I appreciate his daredevil approach to bold sayings
And simple writing.
Some great people have said it time and again that, the one
who writes well is the one who writes simple for the widest
audience – encompassing both the learned and the grassroots individuals.
My friend Sunkur is someone who does not need to prove anything to anyone.
He has stood always as a defender of values and ethics.
Now that he has fulfilled part of his dream, by publishing his most captivating works, namely :
Maurice Pays de LoupsGarous, Spices of Life, Urvahsi (a Hindi book) and the terrific poetry work
‘Petals of Trochetia’, I do hold to his undeniable, indelible credit that he has marked his time for ever.

I have been throughout the years, since a child, involved in social work, dedicated to charity and benevolence. My roads have crossed those of Sunkur time and again.
Therefore, I can deeply voice out my admiration for the great man behind great writings. Hail the Poet.

Biography of Shashikan (Sunil) Mangar:
Age 49, married and father of 2 children., Sunil is an Expert Printer with 25 years of professional experience and has worked for one of the major dailies ‘Le Mauricien’.
Besides being a close friend to the author, Sunil has been on and on, through relentless efforts, in collaboration with other Institutions and NGOs, a most devout fellow. He has been at the forefront in fighting against substance abuse, narcotics and the likes through Natresa..
Sunil is also a frontline, active member of the Mauritius Labour Party
He has been Treasurer of Labour Agents Association 1997-2009.
He is currently Member of Hindutva Co-operative Credit Union Society.
He has been Vice-President of Petite-Riviere Council 1996-1997, founder Member of Richelieu Young Boys Sporting Club in 1997, Vice-President of Movement Civique La Tour Koenig.
His credentials extend further as Founder Member of the first and only Sikh Congregation in Mauritius - Sri Guru Singh Sabha (Gurdwara) situated at GRNW.
Sunil also holds responsibilities as Member of La Tour Koenig Hindu Cultural Society, Swastika Kalyan Mandir of Pointe-aux-Sables, Gita Mandir of Beau-Bassin, Shiv Parivar Mandir of Beau-Bassin, Voice of Hindu at Quatre-Bornes and finally Vice-President of Sant Mat Meditation and Spiritual Centre.
Therefore, Shashikan (Sunil) Mangar has proven experience and authority in many fields and his expertise in social, cultural and political realms are highly commendable.
Finally, Sunil Mangar believes in solid gold values and is determined to see a better Mauritius with flourishing human values and beautiful garden for mankind.
Sunil says he will strive until his last breath to gather the sheep into the fold. As a main Labour Activist, he believes in the legacy of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam and is thankful to him for the great island country that Mauritius represents.

Great!
Sunkur and I have been recently involved in public/social work. We are together in the venture of setting up a support rail for the poor and the downtrodden.
I am the Founder/Director of Dolphin Informatics and therefore, deeply involved in education, training as well as business in IT (hardware/Software) with schools, colleges, students and other institutions.
I am satisfied with what Sunkur writes. He has his own uncommon style. He has an excellent taste for chosing words and expressions to paint the kaleidoscope of life. I appreciate his boldness to say what other are afraid to tell.
No doubt, his Petals of Trochetia will definitely cause a lot of red ink to flow. Well done Sunkur!

Simply marvellous!
I am myself an author having published 'LA PEAU DE DIEU' and also, Secretary of a literary circle called 'LES PLUMITIFS ASSOCIES'.
I am also involved in other cultural circles and activities.
Together with my wife, we appreciate our lifelong friend Sunkur.
It was quite a pleasant surprise to me when Sunkur published his long awaited books. His poetry is damning pertinent when it comes to unveil the intricacies of today's daily life conditions.
Sunkur and I belong to the same world. No doubt, I support what he thinks and says. And I am also saying it aloud today! Petals of Trochetia will move hearts and press minds at all levels.
Congratulations Sunkur!

Well done Sunkur!
Your peotry and stories are indeed captivating.
It makes pleasant reading.
I have been throughout my life now, a relentless social worker, apart from being the Managing Director of my own Advertising firm 'PUBLIPRESS ADVERTISING BUREAU' which is the second oldest advertising agency in Mauritius.
I have come across many types of individuals and met with a wide variety of people from around the world.
I can readily say that Sunkur writes excatly what needs to be said in this era. He depicts people, places, events and time exactly the way they should be told.
I simply hope and wish that others give an ear to his laudable cries for a better world. Mainly politicians and ministers.
Bravo Sunkur and keep writing.

Sunkur is an old friend of mine.
I appreciate his works.
Namely: L'Ile Maurice Pays de LoupsGarous, Spices of Life and at long last, Petals of Trochetia.
He is that uncommon writer who dares to say and relate things that others would not and/or cannot.
Ode To Women, Politicians, Big Mystery are among the frontal issues of today's world.
I am a High Executive of the Mauritius Sugar Bulk Terminal and I know what makes up good management and running of daily business with staff at all levels.
I am also an active social worker, Member of the Labour Party, Chairman of Pamplemousses Social Welfare Centre and active on many fronts for the sake of citizens welfare.
My brother Suren Ramsewak holds the same view concerning Sunkur Ji.
Suren Ramsewak has dedicated his life as well to social work and citizens' wellbeing. He has been for many years the Marketing Manager of the Mauritius Radio/TV Commercial/Marketing Department. My other brother who is in the Judiciary at highest level is also very appreciative of our friend.
I wish there could be more writers with the mettle of Sunkur.

Bawansing is an old friend.
I am pleased to see that he has at last decided to write. He is a good pen. I can say without hesitation that ODE TO WOMEN is a masterpiece. I am a professional in the field of Education and involved particularly with Primary School Level activities. Ode To Women is a fine piece of writing and cuts across ages. It is quite inciting to kids and adults alike. This piece of literature brings us back to bare bone realities of life - motherhood, childhood, manhood and life in general. We will probably never say it enough with praising words. God knows why he created the Woman. Let us not pervert Truth and its obligations. We should mandate civilised, poetic and sentimental behaviour towards Women (those who stand deservedly though). Kindness to Women is kindness and safety to Humanity.

Bravo for Ode to Women!
I was delighted to read ‘Ode to Women’ on your blog.
This is excellent stuff.
It is most pleasurable to read a classical style English writing.
We do not see such boldness and character so often these days
if not anymore.
I am the President of “ASSOCIATION FORCE DE LA VICTOIRE”, an NGO fighting for apology, redress and indemnity to the descendents of coolies and slaves in Mauritius and possibly worldwide.
It is simply wonderful to see authors like Bawansing Sunkur, who dare come up to say and express worthy issues through his expert wordpower.
